MACON COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - A person of interest is in custody after threats were made against East Alabama school system.
Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunson confirms that a threat was made toward schools in Macon County and that they were temporarily placed on lock-down.
“The safety of our students is my top priority,” said Sheriff Brunson.
Details are limited at this time but we are told that an individual threatened to “shoot up” one of the schools.
The Sheriff tells us it was unclear which school was the target of the threat so he deployed additional security at all schools in Macon county.
