COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - As we head through the middle and end of the week, look for a better coverage of rain in our forecast with a 50-60% coverage of showers and storms for Wednesday through Friday. As always, the best coverage should come during the afternoon and evening hours, but we can’t rule out some overnight rain or an early morning shower as you start off your day. Look for highs to stay mainly in the upper 80s, but those that end up staying dry have a chance of making it to the 90 degree mark. For the weekend, the rain coverage will drop, but we still anticipate a 20-40% coverage of rain with the best chances on Sunday. Highs should climb back to the lower 90s. We will keep the highs there through the early part of next week with conditions gradually drying out. The much-anticipated fall weather is put on hold for now, but it does look like the air will at least be drier as we head into next week.
