Way Down Film Festival returning to Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus is gearing up for the third annual Way Down film Festival, presented by Synovus.

The festival takes place October 19 to October 21 at the Springer Opera House.

Forty-seven short films from around the world will be celebrated during a weekend of screenings, innovating thematic parties, networking events, live music, art exhibitions, and moderated Q& A’s with filmmakers.

Celebrities from Ozark, The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, Bloodline, and more will be in attendance.

"What's exciting about Way Down is we're able to support the budding film maker since it's a short film festival. So, if they make a two-minute film, we could showcase them but it’s also a recruitment tool and just a great time to celebrate," says Jacy Jenkins with the Way Down Film Festival.

This year’s festival will also include an exclusive, invitation-only screening of Bo Bartlett’s film, Things Don’t Stay Fixed.
