Hurricane Michael brings dangerous winds to Panama City ahead of landfall

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Hurricane Michael will make its first stop hitting Panama City, Florida as a Category 4 storm and will be the strongest storm to ever hit the city.

High winds pound the Gulf Coast as the waves rise and rush against the pier at Pier Park in Panama City Beach, FL as the hurricane inches closer.

News Leader 9’s Parker Branton caught the gusts of the winds picking up on the beach ahead of the storm making landfall.

Around 11:30 Michael’s max winds reached 150 MPH and is less than 2 hours from landfall and only needs to be 156 MPH to strengthen to a Category 5.
