COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The first of two cold fronts will be moving in as we head through the day Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers expected during the day. Although highs will make it to the upper 70s and lower 80s, we expect mid 70s back in the forecast for Thursday and Friday with morning lows those days in the 50s. Skies will be mostly sunny on Thursday, but look for an increase in clouds again going into Friday. This will be ahead of the next, more powerful cold front that will affect weather by the weekend.
We expect a 30-50% coverage of showers during the day Saturday, and that will be followed by sunshine and sharply cooler weather for Sunday and early next week. The high on Saturday should be in the upper 70s, while we will stay in the upper 60s on Sunday. Overnight lows will be at their coolest Monday and Tuesday morning of next week with many communities in the 40s!
