Man arrested in Columbus for child molestation, criminal trespass appears in court

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM ) - A suspect arrested for child molestation and criminal trespass in Columbus appeared in court Thursday afternoon.

Phillip Kwame Foster, 28, is charged with felony child molestation, Peeping Tom, enticing a child for indecent purposes, (2 counts) and misdemeanor criminal trespass. He was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 7.

In court, Cpl. Amanda Hogan testified that several female juveniles complained that Foster was harassing them when they got off the school bus. They said Foster was offering them money in exchange for sex and hugs.

One 13-year-old female told police that he grabbed her and fondled her. The juveniles also told police that they were walking home from school in groups because of the harassment.

The incidents happened in the are of Doyle Avenue and Urban Avenue in Columbus.

Police say Foster was arrested after he was caught peeking into the bedroom window of a female juvenile.

Foster pleaded not guilty to the charges. His bond is set as follows:

  • Child molestation - $15,000
  • Enticing a child for indecent purposes - $5,000 on each count
  • Peeping Tom - $25,000
  • Criminal trespass - $250

The case was bound to Superior Court.
