Columbus church and barbershop partner to provide resources to the homeless community

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus church and barbershop teamed up to host a day of giving for people in need across the Chattahoochee Valley.

The Edge Church and Overflo Beauty and Barber Shop provided free haircuts, hairstyles, toiletries, and socks to show their love to the homeless community.

The event took place at the Homeless Resource Network on 2nd Avenue in Columbus.

"By building these partnerships the more people are aware that we have people in Columbus who are experiencing homelessness. But there are programs to help and that can connect people that makes all of the difference,” said Liz Dillard, director of the Homeless Resource Network.

Overflo and the Edge Church has been doing this outreach for about five years.
