Bo Bartlett Center in Columbus hosts opening reception for Artistic Ability art exhibition

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - People in the Chattahoochee Valley attended the opening reception of the Artistic Ability art exhibition Friday evening.

The event took place that the Bo Bartlett Center for the Arts.

Artistic Ability is an outreach program for disabled adults. It was establisehd as a collaboration between the Bo Bartlett Center established and New Horizons Behavioral Health. The program is designed to bring artists of all abilities together.

Artistic Ability is a unique program as its not art theory or art education. It’s an opportunity for friendships among artists who might never meet and connect except through Artistic Ability.

“It’s a form of expression and best kind of expression for these folks,” said Jane Miller with the Bo Bartlett Center.

Students were awarded certificates for artwork during the ceremony.

The work by artists will be on display at the Bo Bartlett Center from Saturday, April 13 to Saturday, April 20.

Entrance is free and open to the public.
