FORT MITCHELL, AL (WTVM) - Hundreds gathered together on Saturday to take an exciting walk back in time- Fort Mitchell held its Annual Pioneer Day!
Some of the most popular attractions included live bluegrass and country music as well as plenty of delicious food vendors.
The exciting day also offered horse-drawn wagon rides and reenactors dressed from the time of the Creek Indian Wars.
Attendees then got a special look at the different artwork and trades of the time with a vintage quilt show, blacksmith and bee-keeper demonstrations, and interactive historic crafting classes.
The large crowd also enjoyed exploring the many historic buildings on site. Fort Mitchell features an original 1800′s era cabin, stockade, carriage house, and trading post. The site also includes an Indian heritage center, an educational museum, and a memorial cemetery.
