Hardaway High School student with special needs gets heartwarming promposal

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A high school student from Columbus displayed a heartwarming act of kindness by making one of his classmate’s dream come true.

Destinee, a Hardaway High School student with special needs, wanted nothing more than to attend prom, but did not think she would get the chance.

David Wilson, also a Hardaway student, heard about Destinee’s wish and decided to take matters into his own hands.

David asked Destinee to be his date to prom with a heartwarming promposal featuring a High School Musical themed poster.

Destinee’s response came in the form of her shirt that read, ‘Yes!’

Hardaway High School Principal Matt Bell said in Facebook post, “Thank you, David Wilson, for lifting up our entire school community with your act of kindness.”

“We danced the whole entire prom," said David. "We went out to eat and we had a real good time. It was just really amazing. Everything’s been great, everybody’s been great and everybody’s supporting. I think it’s a blessing, but I feel as if it changed from people not liking it and not accepting it to people really accepting it and understanding that what I did was the right thing.”

The pair attended prom and made a beautiful couple.

What a beautiful act of kindness from Hardaway HS student David Wilson. He heard that Destinee wanted nothing more but...
