COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School Board approved a spot rezoning proposal during a meeting Monday night.
The proposal to rezone Midland Middle and Aaron Cohn Middle schools was approved. Aaron Cohn students living west and south of Flat Rock Road will be rezoned to Midland Middle. The exception will be the apartments and subdivisions the enter in to Flat Rock Road after it splits from Milgen Road.
“Now that it has been approved by the board, the students and parents that are effected by that spot rezoning, which is about 110, 115 or so, will receive official correspondence from the school district,” said Mercedes Parham, director of communications “We also have some answers available on our Muscogee County School District website for any frequently asked questions.”
School district offcials said the rezoning will help with overcrowding and balance out enrollment at both schools.
