Point University terminates employee over “irregularities” with credit card

WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) - An employee at Point University has been terminated after what officials with the school say are “irregularities” involving the employee’s credit card.

Administrators say they became aware of inconsistencies involving the employee’s institutional credit card and terminated them on Apr. 10.

The employee in question has not been named.

Local law enforcement are conducting an investigation.

Point University President Dean Collins released a statement saying,

“Point University administrators recently became aware of irregularities related to an employee’s institutional credit card. As a result, the employment of this individual was terminated on April 10, 2019 and the matter turned over to local law enforcement. Local law enforcement is conducting an investigation, with which the University is cooperating fully. Point University’s policy is to refrain from commenting about an ongoing investigation by law enforcement.”
