Columbus neighborhood sees two shootings in one week

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The community of East Highland in Columbus has been the scene two shooting incidents in just one week. 

According to Columbus Police, shots were fired Friday morning on 25th Street, near the intersection of 16th Street where three people were shot several days ago. 

Police have not released the name of the latest victim. He was shot in the leg and transported to the hospital for treatment. 

No other details about this incident are known.

Last week, a man driving down 16th Avenue in East Highland opened fire on three people. One of the victims was struck in the head. [Click here to read our that story.]
