EUFAULA, AL (WTVM) - Alabama State Troopers confirm they are investigating a fatal three-car accident on Highway 165 near Holy Trinity, Alabama.

Authorities tell us at least one person was killed Monday evening in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler and other vehicles.

Russell County Corner Arthur Sumbry Jr. tells News Leader 9 the driver of the 18-wheeler, 31-year-old Thomas Lee Price Jr. was killed in the accident.

Price is from Cuthbert, Georgia. We are told his body will be sent to the Alabama State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Sumbry adds there were three vehicles involved in the crash, including an 18-wheeler log truck and two pick-up trucks. At the time, Sumbry did not have any information on other injuries related to the accident.

According to viewers who called in to the station,  traffic in the area was backed up for miles as authorities worked to clear the accident.

News Leader 9 is following this story. We'll have the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
