AUBURN, AL (WBRC/WTVM) - The man accused of poisoning the historic trees at Auburn's Toomer's corner has yet another attorney.
Harvey Updyke is now on his fourth attorney, Glennon Threatt, of Birmingham.
Updyke's third attorney, Jerry Blevins, filed a motion citing "irreconcilable conflict" between him and Updyke.
Threatt appeared on the Paul Finebaum Show to discuss his client's plans Tuesday. He told a radio audience that he will make Updyke "look like a human."
Threatt said his client plans to plead not guilty and will request a change of venue away from Lee County where Auburn University is located.
Updyke is out of jail, but a friend says because of the threats, Updyke is living out of his car next to a creek somewhere in Alabama.
He has a court hearing next Wednesday in Auburn at 9:00 a.m. at the Lee County Justice Center.
On January 27, Updyke allegedly called the Paul Finebaum radio show to say that he poisoned the trees at Toomer's Corner by applying the herbicide, Spike 80PF to the root system of the trees.
