A Fort Benning soldier has been charged with possession of child pornography and attempting to distribute it. Charles Bittner was arrested by Lee County authorities after a 4-month investigation. Police searched Bittner's Phenix City apartment and say they found computer disks containing pornography involving children under the age of 17. Bittner will appear in court later to answer to the charges.
