Students Design Temporary Housing for Storm Victims

Auburn design and architecture graduate students have come up with an innovative way to temporarily house victims of natural disasters while they rebuild their lives.

The concept is getting so much attention that Alabama Governor Bob Riley wanted to see the housing units for himself.

For $2,500, th students are transforming old shipping containers into temporary housing.

These units are ideal because they're weatherproof and stackable for transport.

The trailer is roughly 320 square feet and has electricity and air conditioning.  Governor Riley was so impressed with this project, he's going to set up a meeting between the Auburn students and FEMA.
