A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Zaneta Lowe got her first taste of life in a newsroom at the age of 18 while an intern at CBS 42 in her hometown. While in college at the University of Alabama, she worked as an Anchor/Reporter for Alabama Public Radio and even spent a summer working for National Public Radio's All Things Considered. After her start in public radio, Zaneta soon ventured back into television working as an intern and weekend associate producer for Birmingham's Fox 6 News.
Upon graduation, Zaneta was hired as a weekend anchor/reporter for NewsChannel 49 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (now WVUA). Shortly thereafter, Zaneta's dream of working as a reporter in her hometown came true when she joined the staff of NBC 13. For nearly four years, Zaneta served as NBC 13's West Alabama Bureau Chief covering stories such as the 2001 Jim Walter Mine explosion, Tuscaloosa's deadly F-4 tornado and the convictions of 16th Street Baptist Church bombers Bobby Frank Cherry and Thomas Blanton.
After spending some time in the field of public relations, Zaneta has returned to her roots in the newsroom. She joined the WTVM News Team in September 2006 as the ConsumerWatch Reporter. In May of 2007 Zaneta took on additional duties as the 5:30 pm anchor for News Leader 9. Then in January of 2010, she joined Chuck Leonard and Meterologist Bruce Lee on News Leader 9 Mornings.
Zaneta and her husband Woodrow have two sons; Woodrow (Trey), III (6) and Kyle (2). She loves spending time with her family and capturing lots of family photos!
