
If you have a jar of Peter Pan peanut butter in your pantry, think twice about eating it. Certain jars have been linked to a massive salmonella outbreak.
The jars of peanut butter being recalled have the product code 2111 on the lid. Supermarkets all across the country are removing the jars from store shelves.
We visited Publix on Milgen Road where they were placed in boxes labeled recalled.
The FDA announced the recall of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study revealing that nearly 300 people across 39 states had become ill after eating it.
"We were notified by our corporate office this morning around 7:30 a.m., we pulled all of the Peter Pan products off the shelf that were apart of the recall," says Publix manager Jim Evans.
ConAgra Foods in Sylvester, Georgia manufacters the products. They advise consumers to discard them if they have them but to save the lid.
