Lanett, Valley and West Point are joining forces, making the online job hunt easier for their residents. The area is preparing for growth from Kia and Fort Benning. The newly-formed Jobs Alliance will help residents apply for jobs.
The three city governments say it's time to bring jobs to their own. The Jobs Alliance was formed less than two weeks ago, and all three cities have set up workspaces so you can get help. They'll not only help you apply for jobs with Kia and its suppliers, but also existing industries throughout east Alabama and west Georgia.
"As we have perspective employees coming in, we can steer them to those employers," said Foy Fisher, consultant for The Jobs Alliance.
"It's a great opportunity to show the public that the three cities do co-operate together. We are working together for the benefit of our citizens," said Joel Holley, Lanett city manager.
The centers will be up and running for at least a year. All three centers open Wednesday morning and will run during normal business hours.
