LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) - An east Alabama man was shot multiple times outside his residence in broad day light.

Sixty-seven year-old Edward Crum of Auburn, is recovering in the East Alabama Medical Center from gunshot wounds to the head and back.  Police tells us, Wednesday around 10:00 a.m., 59 year-old Jonathan Simpson approached Crum after he had driven home and shot him while he was sitting in his car.

Simpson has been charged one count of unlawful shooting into an occupied vehicle and first degree assault. He is being held in the Lee County Detention facility on $20,000 bond.

Crum is currently recovering from surgery. We're told his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. News Leader 9 and WTVM.com will continue to follow this story. Count on us for the latest.
