    In 2006, Terry Grant and Jamiah Holder became the first Lumberton grads to sign Division I college scholarships straight out of high school. Holder went to Louisiana-Monroe while Grant went on to win SEC freshman of the year at Alabama. Panthers sophomore Robert Henry has similar goals of playing college football – and similar talent-level to that of Grant and Holder.

    Jack Abraham graduated from Oxford High in 2015, but not before becoming the first high school quarterback in the state to throw for 12,000 yards and 100 touchdowns. A commitment to Tulane, Abraham’s scholarship offer was pulled after a Green Wave coaching change so the quarterback decided to sign with Louisiana Tech.
