PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - It has been more than two weeks since Shedrick Dixon and Keith Weeks were gunned down at Rad Cutz on South Seale Road in Phenix City.

Investigators like Captain Frank Ivey with the Phenix City Police department are still struggling to identify a person of interest, much less a suspect.

"All we have is a street name that we have identified that as to be either Kanye-D or Killa-D. It's been reported that this subject is possibly from the Louisiana area," Ivey said.

The lack of cooperation from citizens is forcing cops to work overtime.

And everyone is talking about it.

The trouble is, no one is talking to authorities.

Police say a "no-snitch" policy on the streets is preventing justice in the case of Dixon's and Week's murders.

"A lot of people either only know this individual by that street name or the people that actually know him may feel no real need to bring forth that information at this time," Ivey said.

That's why friends of Dixon and Weeks are stepping up to aid police and create unity in Phenix City.

Steven Richardson knew both victims of the February 9th double murder.

"Older days, we used to go to sleep with our doors unlocked," Richardson said.

He says that isn't the case anymore --- which is why they've organized a unity march to take place in Phenix City on March 6th, where they'll pray for the victims and take the position of peace to the streets.

"We can talk to these people out here, in the streets, but they are not going to actually do anything, but if they see somebody doing something positive, the community will come out," Richardson said.
