An investigation is underway to find out who left a homemade bomb next to a Columbus police officer's patrol car. Investigators say a resident at Huckleberry Hill Apartments, on Saint Mary's Road, called 911 Saturday after finding a suspicious device in the parking lot.
The apartment complex was locked down, and bomb techinicans sent a robot in to disarm the device.
Investigators wouldn't say what the device was made of, but officials say it was dangerous enough to cause them concern.
Haz-mat team members are running checks on the bomb to find out what it was made of.
No one was hurt when the bomb was disabled.
Now Columbus police are investigating who made and planted the bomb.
Detectives don't know whether the officer who lives in the apartment complex was being targeted.
