MIDLAND, Ga. (WTVM) -  Autopsies confirm what the community has already feared. Eddie Harrington murdered the children before taking his own life.

The bodies of 27 year-old Eddie Harrington, 3 year-old son Sedrick Harrington, and 2 year-old twins Agena and Aliyah Battle were discovered laying in a row Wednesday afternoon by a passerby from a nearby plant. The murder weapon was found underneath the father's body.

Columbus Police say Harrington shot each of the children in the head before turning the gun on himself.

Their bodies and their Chevy Impala were found in a secluded wooded area behind the Litho-Krome industrial building on Old Brim Road -- an area not visible from the road.

Autopsies suggest the shootings happened shortly after the children were reported missing on March 5th.

The children's mother, also confirms Harrington took $200 from their account and bought a gun before disappearing with the children.

Girlfriend, Agena Battle, told News Leader 9, all three of the kids are Harrington's. Harrington left the evening of March 4 without taking any child restraint seats, or additional clothing for the kids.  He also left behind a note referencing the welfare of the children.

Agena Battle previously told News Leader 9, Harrington threaten to take the kids before, but his efforts then failed.

Harrington's father, Jerome Harrington, received a good-bye letter from his son on March 7th, two days after Harrington killed his kids and himself. The letter was sent to Indianapolis, Indiana, Harrington's hometown, and was postmarked March 5th.
