Fire at Delta Motor Company

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received several calls from the public alerting them to a fire at 4420 17th Avenue-- the Delta Motor Company of Columbus.

Several units were called to put out the fire. Firefighters say the business owner accidentally caused the blaze when he was trying to replace a fuel pump in a car. A gas tank that was lifted off the ground then slid off a ramp and caused a gas leak-- after which a blaze ignited.

Thankfully, no one was injured. The fire damaged part of the building. We've learn it's not a total loss.
