High School Students Experience Being Drunk

COLUMBUS, GA.  (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department is visiting each high school in Muscogee County over the next two weeks talking about the dangers of drinking and driving.

The students will be able to wear goggles, duplicating the effects of being under the influence.  "We see it far too much, where someone think they hadn't drunk that much and a lot of them don't know how much it is you can drink before it cause impairment to the person," said Sgt. Warren Dunlap.

The demonstration is made possible through a grant from Applebee's restaurant.  Officers say they hope students learn something valuable as they prepare for the prom, spring break and graduation.
