TALBOT COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - A woman is thankful to be alive after an encounter with a deer nearly killed her.

Jeannie Dent tells WTVM.com, she was driving home around dusk Sunday evening on County Road 71, when a deer burst through her driver-side window.  It then exited through the back passenger window of her Toyota Camry and died from its injuries.

Dent's husband works on a motor squad. He says it's a miracle that she is alive --- normally victims don't make it out alive.

Dent says she has some bruise on her thigh and chest where the deer's hoofs may have touched her, and some scratches on her face from glass that spattered on her face.

She was only about a half a mile from her home when the deer struck her car.

Dent wrote WTVM.com, "It's a miracle... I have a new respect for deers."
