COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Those who decided to brave the rain Saturday morning, ventured out to Peach Lanes to participate in the annual "Bowl for Kids Sake".

Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Columbus hosted the event where teams have the chance to raise awareness for the organization.

Organizers were afraid that the bad weather would keep people away. But director Emmett Moore was wrong, "I was actually surprised when I came in this morning -- it was tough getting here -- and when I came in the parking lot it was full of cars. So far the turn out is pretty good. It's nice to see people have come out anyway and find this effort important enough to support."

All the proceeds of "Bowl for Kids Sake" went to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters who change kids' lives by pairing them with positive role models.
