NATIONAL (WTVM) - April Fool's day traditionally comes with surprises, but this year a fast moving computer worm has PC experts especially on edge.

The Conficker worm has already infected some 10 million Windows operated computers worldwide. It uses those computers to send spam, spread more infections, clog networks, or try and even bring down websites.

If your computer doesn't have an October 2008 Microsoft Windows patch designed to fix the virus, your computer could be infected. Macs are not affected.

Microsoft and some internet security companies have released detection and removal tools.

If you use one of these tools to remove Conficker immediately install the MS08-067 patch afterwards.
