Auburn student dies in two-vehicle accident

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn Police are investigating an accident that occurred Thursday
around 7:30 p.m. on Wire Road between Webster Road and Cox Road.

We're told two vehicles: one a 1994 Jeep Wrangler and the other a 2003 Ford Explorer.

A passenger in the Jeep, 19-year-old Brandon Scott Maluff an Auburn University student and a resident of Auburn was killed in the accident.  The driver of the Jeep, a 19-year-old male, also from Auburn was transported to East Alabama Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a 28-year-old woman from Auburn was not injured.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

    A second arrest has been made in connection with a deadly shooting that happened June 13 in West Point. Eric Bridges surrendered himself to the West Point Police Department Monday, June 18 at approximately 5:20 p.m.  He was being sought for the death of Reggie Pearson. Larry Dean Mallory, 58, was last seen Wednesday, June 13, leaving his residence on Mallory Drive in LaGrange. He was driving a Chevrolet truck with a Georgia tag.     The city of Columbus has just announced that the Government Center will close Monday due to a water leak that has flooded several offices inside the building.  All portions of the center were impacted by the leak.
