COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Water Witch, that officially opened Saturday in Columbus, played host to a special ceremony Sunday morning. The port offered an 1860's themed church service on the deck of the ship in honor of its commissioning ceremony this weekend.

The ship took three years to build and eight years to plan, but organizers are happy to finally see it. "It's great to finally come to the point where we can open it to the public, but as we all know its far from complete, but its pretty wonderful from up there," Bruce Smith told News Leader Nine.

Chaplin Woody Bollinger performed the service this morning and was able to use the original bible from the Water Witch.
