COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Some counties in the area are celebrating Spring Break this week, but many can't afford to travel because of funds. But one Columbus group is trying to bring entertainment for a low price.

The Columbus Botanical Gardens is hosting its "Spring Break Stay-Cation" at their location on Weems Road. They hope to bring fun and learning without a big trip.

Nicole Sanchez with the gardens told News Leader Nine, "We organize it as a way for families to have fun activities that are inexpensive and close to home. We thought of it as a fun stay-cation event.  We try to focus on things that kids can do and things that they can stay home."

The event includes: making flower pressed cards, bird feeders, potted plants and several other activities. For more information you can contact the Columbus Botanical Gardens at (706)327-8400. The area is located at 3603 Weems Road.
