Opelika police rule man's death a homicide

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - Opelika police continue to investigate the city's second murder of the year.

Investigators tell us they've pinned down a suspect in the death of 53-year-old Levi Beard.

And while details on this portion of the investigation are limited, we can tell you about some of the circumstances surrounding beard's death.

According to reports, two men were shot around Tuesday night in front of a mobile home on Monroe avenue.

One man, a 41-year-old, was shot in the knee and survived, but beard died from a shot to the head.
