AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - An Auburn University organization hosted an event Sunday afternoon, bringing global awareness to the area.

The college's Wesley Foundation showed the film "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" about the lives of women in Liberia and their struggles. The group is trying to raise money to support their mission team who travels to the foreign country to help rebuild cities.

Joe Davis, the student President of Auburn Wesley Foundation, traveled with the group two years ago to Liberia. He thinks the film shines a much needed light on the issues, "Just being aware of that helps you feel more connected to people around the world and once you know about something you can start to do something and try to change things."

The Assistant Director, Phillip Hernandez agreed saying, "We're hoping the public can become educated about what is going on in Liberia why we're going there for three weeks to rebuild in the country."

Another viewing of the film is set for Tuesday at 7 PM Central time in Auburn University's Student Center.
