Road Delays: Parts of 13th St. and Veterans

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Diligent efforts to clear streets have paid off.  Most of 13th Street is now open.

But motorist can still expect to take some detours on some side streets, there is still much work to be done.

Eberhart Avenue to a near Cherokee Avenue is still closed. City workers to hope to wrap up road clearance by Tuesday night.

Above is a map outlining the closed routes.

In north Columbus, the Georgia Department of Transportation will be resurfacing Veterans Parkway from Cooper Creek Road into Harris County and on up to the Troup County line -- a stretch of 28 miles.

Crews will be out from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. five to six days a week depending on weather. Motorist are told to expect delays. The project will probably take about four months to complete.

    The Troup County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance locating a missing person. Larry Dean Mallory, 58, was last seen Wednesday, June 13, leaving his residence on Mallory Drive in LaGrange. He was driving a Chevrolet truck with a Georgia tag.
