LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - News Leader Nine has learned that the body of 65-year-old Delton Frazier has been found in the West Point Lake.

West Point Lake's Ranger Supervisor, David Barr says Frazier drowned this past weekend at the lake after trying to retrieve a boat.

Barr says the man had driven from Atlanta to West Point Lake to go fishing.

Between 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Friday morning, the man's boat drifted out into the water, he went to retrieve it and never made it to the boat or back to shore.

Carroll County and Haralson County both dispatched dive teams to aid in the search.

They, along with the Troup County Sheriff's Department and West Point officials, have been searching for the body since Friday.

Frazier's body was found around 1:30 p.m. Monday and has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
