PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - The search is on for 32- year-old Rodriguez Battle. Phenix City Police say he's armed and dangerous.

"He is known to carry firearms with him. He does have a criminal back ground that includes violence," says Luitenent, Curtis Lewis.

Battle is wanted for rape in the first degree.

Columbus investigators say the female victim screamed for help as Battle allegedly kidnapped her, took her to Phenix City in his car, then raped her.

"She was abducted from her place of business in Columbus. He forcibly he took her to his place of employment where she was then released with her vehicle," says Lewis.

Officials believe Battle may have fled to Atlanta, but If anyone comes in contact with the accused rapist they should be careful, officials say.

"By no means try to approach him and take matters in your own hands," added Lewis.
