COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It's hard for customers at the McDonald's on Veteran's Parkway in Downtown Columbus to comprehend.

A 21-year old man robbed and attacked by four men, during the dinner hour, in the same drive thru they now find themselves in.

"It's very scary...we live around the corner from this place, and the face that they just came up to his car...it's so unexpected," said Jessica McKenzie, a drive-thru customer.

"It's something you don't expect at a drive-thru. You're getting food, and it's just the last place in the world you think you'd have to worry about," said Brandy Tidd, another drive-thru customer.

Police say before the robbers got away with some cash and the man's cell phone, they also punched him in the face, leaving him with a swollen and bruised eye.

The biggest shock of all--that it happened during the daylight hours, when people least expect it.

"Where I come from, this doesn't happen. People don't get robbed in the daylight," said Beaudit Lastar, a McDonald's customer.

Police are still searching for the suspects...four black males, all wearing black skullcaps.
