Columbus Cessna to lay off 40

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Doug Oliver, Director of Corporate Communications for Cessna Aircraft tells News Leader 9, 40 people in Columbus are losing their jobs in their latest cutback.

Cessna officials also announced  to employees Tuesday they are also looking to sell or lease their new $11 million (100,000 sq. ft) facility that opened last August.

Oliver adds when the facility opened, Cessna was planning on building more airplanes but at the moment demand and production are down.

Last week, Kansas-based Cessna announced that it is laying  off 1300 employees company-wide.
