AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - A car accident has claimed the life of an Auburn woman. Auburn Police say a 52-year-old woman was seriously injured on Webster Road in Auburn around 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday. She later died at East Alabama Medical Center.

Police say a sports utility vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 14 lost control, veered off the highway, and struck the woman's car traveling on Webster Road.

The two people in the SUV sustained minor injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.

The accident took place at an intersection near some railroad tracks, but police tell us that was not a factor in the accident.
