COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police are investigating a pair of Fourth of July shootings.

The first happened at 14th Street where the victim was only trying to help.

The shooting occurred around 10 o'clock Saturday night at the intersection of 14th Street and Broad Street. The victim, 25 year old John Hall, observed an argument between a man and woman.

Hall was shot once in the left arm while attempting to help the woman. The suspect ran from the scene towards 2nd Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks.

A 15 year old Columbus boy was shot in the hand early Saturday morning. Police tell News Leader Nine the juvenile suffered a single gunshot wound to his left hand, resulting in a broken bone at the Wilson Apartments on 31st Street. The boy was taken to the Medical Center for his injuries.

In a separate incident, another juvenile was taken to the emergency room with an axe wound to the knee.

According to Columbus Police, a 17 year old Hardaway High School student was at a house on Lynda Lane when he was injured. The axe punctured the young man's knee cap and left cuts on both hands. At this time the case remains under investigation.
