COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  An issue addressed by Columbus officials Tuesday is one every pet owner will want to hear.

Columbus resident Darlene Kittrell says she and her dog were recently attacked by a loose pit bull in Lakebottom Park. She says her dog was seriously injured in the incident.

Kittrell went before council, urging residents to report any attacks.

Council members and animal control officials also say citizens should call 911 if they ever have a run-in with a loose animal.
