CrimeWatch: Man hit in head with cinder block

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police are investigating an unusual aggravated assault  that occurred on 4th Ave. around 2:00 p.m. Thursday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Kenneth Heath was hit in the head with a cinder block during a fight.  Heath is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery, but his injuries are life threatening. Police are still looking for the man hit him. 

Then around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, 71-year-old Milton Sharp, arrived at St. Francis Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

He says he was shot then robbed by what he describes were two black males at the BP gas station on Manchester Expressway -- right across from St. Francis.  We're told two black men in their their  20's tried to rob him. They shot him four times. The men are also described as being around 5'8 to 5'9 --- one wearing a white shirt and one wearing a black shirt.

Sharp went into surgery, but his injuries are not life threatening. Sharp was visiting the area from Decatur, GA.

Then, Friday morning around 2:30, police received a call about a car on fire at 726 Parkwood Drive. 

It was actually a stolen car.  If anyone have any information on these crimes please call Columbus Police.
