COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Here are the stories you can expect to see in News Leader 9's 5 and 6 o'clock newscasts:

Mayor Jim Wetherington, Columbus Police Chief Ricky Boren, and CB&T Bank announced a merger with CB&T and the Columbus Police Department. A bank branch is slated to open in East Columbus that will house a police precinct. Reporter Lindsey Connell was at the special announcement and will bring you the latest details.

The three suspects charged with murder stemming from a Sunday morning shooting at Main Street Village Apartments appeared in recorder's court this morning. Although all three suspects plead not guilty, the judge is upholding the murder charges, including the charge for the suspect police say was the intended target of an attempted armed robbery.

There is an Auburn University professor that is studying methods of temperature regulation with a state-of-the-art thermal jacket that can block up to 50% of radiant heat and regulate body temperature.
