Here's what's coming up on News Leader 9 at 5 and 6 o'clock

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Here's what we're working on in the WTVM newsroom:

Alabama schools are facing more proration cuts. You may remember back in December Governor Bob Riley announced a 9% cut. That number has now gone up by 2%. At 6PM Greg Funderburg reports what it means for local schools.

The Muscogee County School District held a special called meeting to discuss the possibility of teacher furloughs due to a dwindling state education budget. Reporter Taylor Barnhill has details about the county's plan to change the teacher calendar to meet requirements.

Former America's Most Wanted Top 10 Fugitive Michael Registe is back stateside and an arraignment date has been set for August 7th. Stay tuned to News Leader 9 as we continue to follow the case.
