Crews put out bed fire at Ralston Towers

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Around 10:00 a.m., Columbus fire crews quickly put out a bed fire at the Ralston Towers on 12th Street.

We're told someone who was lying in bed at the time received second and third degree burns to the hand. 

The fire was only contained to a room on the 9th floor.

As a precaution the building was evacuated.  

The cause of the fire nor the victim's name has not been released.  The victim is currently being treated for burns at the Medical Center.
