COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A 23-year-old Columbus woman is dead after a two car crash in Columbus Friday morning.

It happened near the intersection of Warms Springs Road and Billings Road.

Muscogee County coroner, Bill Thrower, says Brittney Elame was pronounced dead at the scene around 7:00 a.m. from multiple blunt force trauma.

We're told Elame's car was going eastbound on Warm Springs, when her car crossed the center line and struck a pick-up traveling westbound.

The truck impacted the car on the passenger side -- splitting it in half and sending Elame 200 yards down the road.

The coroner adds, Elame was not wearing her seatbelt and it's not known why her car crossed the centerline.

The accident is still under investigation.
