Crime Stoppers: Purse snatching

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Crime Stoppers and the Columbus Police Department need your help solving a purse snatching case.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on August 11th at the K-Mart located on Airport Thruway.

Witnesses say a 92-year-old woman was approached by a suspect asking for money.

The victim opened her car to get the money when the suspect grabbed her purse. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled taking with him money and other belongings.

The woman suffered small cuts and bruises to her right arm and shoulder.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • white male
  • 5' 10 "
  • slim build
  • clean cut
  • short dark hair
  • 30-35 years of age
  • wearing green and white shirt and khaki cargo shorts

If this information leads to an arrest and indictment, you could receive a reward up to $1000 and you don't have to give your name.
