COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A prominent Richland couple headed to court accused of swindling more than $2 million from would be investors.

Friday morning, Michael and Phyllis Bleckley were in jail outfits - sitting side by side with the victims in this case -- the Kim family, who own Mikata Japanese Steakhouse in Columbus.

The superior court judge set the bond at a total of $3 million -- $1.5 million for each of the Bleckleys. They face several charges including conspiracy to commit theft. They are suspected of selling unregistered securities to members of the Kim family.

We talked to the Kims' attorney. He wanted no bond, saying the suspects were flight risks.
